Turkeython 2020

Turkeython Flyer

Does your family or organization want to donate to or volunteer for a charity this holiday season, but you don't know where to start?  Thanksgiving is when we typically reflect on what we are thankful for and how we can give back to others.  As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, this year it is more important than ever to help where you can.  There are many ways you can dedicate both your time and money to individuals in need this holiday season, whether in-person, virtually, or by phone.

As you know, Bill Otto’s Oldies Attic Turkeython has been raising money for families in all of Indiana County for over 30 years.  Through this annual Turkeython event, Bill recommends distribution of turkeys, funds for meals or certificates for food and other essential items to local organizations to enable individuals and families in need to celebrate the holidays.  The holidays are when most families are trying to provide food, gifts, and a joyous time for their families and children.  Often times, there is also the ongoing struggle with trying to provide for your family, and pay monthly bills.  Donations such as yours are distributed to organizations like the Salvation Army of Indiana County, Chevy Chase Community Center, Blairsville and Homer City Food Pantries, homeless veterans organizations and many others.

  • Make a pledge, you can call Bill Otto’s Oldies Attic at 724-479-1160, 724-349-WCCS or 724-465-4700 on November 21st, 9:00am to 12:00pm.
  • Visit one of our collections sites.  Find a list of collection sites by visiting here.
  • Donate by sending a check to the United Way of Indiana County at 655 Church Street, Suite 114, Indiana, PA 15701.
  • Want a safe, socially distanced way to help this year?  Donate online.  Take it a step further and become an advocate and champion for our cause and help us raise more funds so that we can touch more lives in the community during this holiday season.  Asking friends and family for support has never been so easy.  Click on the Register button and follow prompts.  Once you register in our online platform, a fundraising page is created just for you, with built-in tools to ask for donations via social media, email, or text.

Your contribution is a way of not only feeding those who are hungry, but also to show kindness and support to those who are feeling the pain of poverty and misfortune.  Won't you please help make it possible for this annual charitable tradition to continue?  The United Way relies on generous donations from caring people like you to provide this important service to the residents of our community. Thank you for being an example of what it means to be #CommunityStrong.
